Hello!
My name is Mrs. Goodman, and I am so excited to be teaching your child. We have much to look forward to in fifth grade. We’ll enjoy literature and nonfiction reading, writing of all genres, new math concepts, and some great hands-on science and history. We get to start the year off by making collages on our own special writing journals. Please remind your child to bring magazines and/or photos from home.
I can’t wait to get to know each and every one of you! But, first, let me tell you a little about myself. I earned my multiple-subject credential and Master of Teaching from University of San Francisco. I have experience working with kids of all ages from birth to 8th grade. I’ve had a passion for drama and visual art since elementary school and have had much training from the Wells Fargo Center for the Arts. I have taught 5th-7th grades for six years in Santa Rosa and Marin County.
I grew up in Marin County as the youngest of five and have been married for 16 years to my wonderful husband. During my free time, I spend time with our delightful almost 3-year-old and 6-year-old boys running around at the park, enjoying coffee at the local café, and singing and dancing to music. I also enjoy hiking, shopping, reading, and hanging out with friends! Lastly, I thrive on challenging myself, and my students, to learn from mistakes and do our best.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Goodman
